Earlier I was on a dating site and I saw a listing from a gorgeous young woman named Sandra looking for true love. She was looking for something deeper than she's had before spiritually with her previous mates. Her ad on the dating site said that she was looking to have a candle light dinner with what she would hope to be the "man of her dreams", and that they would eventually become a happy couple. It was a very romantic notion, but posting it on a dating site seemed destined to fail. And the fact that she was posting on a dating site means she was likely unable to connect with anyone personally.

Today, my brothers and I, gave this house the most thorough cleaning it's had in years. More than just dusting and vacuuming, we scrubbed, mopped, shined & polished every surface. We had an ant problem, and unfortunately even after trying to use bug foggers bought from the grocery store, they remained. We contemplated hiring an exterminator but the prices are ridiculously high, not to mention we'd have to leave the house for a couple of days while it's fumigated. Instead, we decided to do it the free way (and hard way); by simply cleaning every nook and cranny in the house. We found a few nesting areas and we cleaned and cleared out, we got rid of a bunch of boxes that they appeared to be drawn to, and moved almost every piece of furniture in the house to sweep and vacuum under it.

We were armed with Raid spray cans to simply tag any nests of ants we ran into while we were cleaning. Much to my chagrin, I found them in abundance behind my computer desk in the corner. I wasted no time drowning them all in Raid, and was happy to be rid of them! Looking back on it, it's disgusting to know that all the times I sat here and ate, there was a nest of ants just out of my sight that I was completely unaware of. Then again, it's probably because of all those times I ate at my computer desk that the ant nests even got there to begin with.

Now that we've cleaned the entire house from top to bottom it's nice to know that we're ant-free again. We'll definitely try to keep the house as clean and tidy as possible in the future to avoid anything like that again. We were just lucky that it was an ant infestation rather than rats or roaches!
